Tom Cook — Chief Executive Officer and President, Permabit Technology

Tom Cook, Chief Executive Officer and President, is responsible for guiding the company’s strategy and vision. Cook has more than 20 years of experience leading growth stage technology companies. Prior to joining Permabit, Cook led and completed the sale of web application developer, Curl Corporation to a division of the Sumitomo Corporation. Prior to Curl, Cook was President and CEO of audio tool maker, Cakewalk Software (acquired by Roland Corporation), which he led from start–up to worldwide market leadership. He also served as a director of or advisor to more than a dozen companies and organizations.

Cook has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, Dartmouth College, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University.

Clint McVey — Senior Vice President of Development, Permabit Technology

Clint McVey, Senior Vice President of Development, is responsible for coordinating design, engineering and development of Permabit’s award–winning products. Clint McVey is an accomplished software executive with an impressive two decade track record of leading top engineering teams. Most recently as senior vice president, product operations at Avamar, McVey helped transform that startup’s product management and engineering teams into a recognized provider of quality solutions. The success of that effort became apparent when the company was recently acquired by EMC. Prior to that, McVey held vice president level roles at VERITAS Software where he led the Data Management Group line of business and oversaw the industry’s leading products in the backup/recovery market. Between 1994–1997 McVey created and oversaw a development center for Computer Associates’ Cheyenne Software.

William Reeves

William Reeves was a director and co–founder of BlueCrest Capital Management Limited, which is now part of UK–based Man Group. Prior to founding BlueCrest in 2000, William had been a managing director at JPMorgan in London and head of macro strategy and trading within the proprietary trading group since March 1999. He holds an MA in Philosophy from New York University and a BA in English from Yale University.

Joe Julian

Joe Julian is a software veteran with a career of building enterprise sales organizations. Julian has held a board position with Avamar Technologies. Julian most recently served as senior vice president of Americas sales and global accounts for VERITAS Software, a leading provider of storage and infrastructure software products. VERITAS was acquired by Symantec in July 2005. As Senior Vice President of Americas Sales and Global Accounts for VERITAS, Mr. Julian’s organization managed the sales and support renewal operations for all products in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. During his tenure at VERITAS Software, Mr. Julian successfully launched the Global Accounts and National Accounts programs that were focused on Enterprise Customers.

Mr. Julian graduated from West Virginia University in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
