Thin Provisioning

Albireo Virtual Data Optimizer (VDO) provides thin provisioning services as part of a complete deduplication stack for Linux.  Thin provisioning allocates physical volume or file system capacity as applications write data, rather than pre-allocating all physical capacity at the time of provisioning. Thin provisioning allows space savings to be realized from the deduplication process, effectively making more virtual space accessible than is physically available.
